Introduction to Classical Oil Painting: Still Life

Prerequisite: Prior drawing experience required.Learn the foundations of classical oil painting in this structured still life course. Each session combines lecture, demonstration, hands-on painting, and critique to guide students through essential techniques. Projects include designing a composition, creating a value scale, poster study, sphere study, drawing for transfer, underpainting, and overpainting. Students will work step by step to complete a finished piece. Homework assignments will be given to reinforce learning and support progress.
